About them

At our high school we have challenged the traditional process of dividing students by grade level and homeroom teacher.  Instead, our school’s structure takes the form of a house system, each comprised of 100 to 150 senior I and senior II students. The houses have different traditions and styles, embodying our school’s eclectic personalities and beliefs. Houses form structures of self-governance, including house council and project groups. Teachers serving as designated house supervisors provide rudimentary guidance, while  house activities are wholly organized by students. Likewise, the annual plan, house rules and budget are set by students.
